7. Information Visible Through Zodo
To provide matching and connection features, Zodo displays selected profile
and matching information to other users. This may include your displayed
name, photographs, biography, age, zodiac information, and other details
made visible through the relevant feature.
Users with whom you communicate can see the messages you send them. Your
account email address, phone number, mailing address, login credentials,
and complete date of birth are not displayed as part of your ordinary
Zodo profile.
8. Access to Personal Information and Service Providers
Authorized Zodo personnel may access personal information when reasonably
necessary to operate the service, provide support, review reports, protect
users, or meet legal obligations.
Zodo also uses service providers to help operate and maintain our services.
These may include providers of website and data hosting, storage and
backups, communications delivery, payment processing, customer support,
and security services.
These providers may process personal information as needed to perform
services for Zodo. We require providers acting on our behalf to protect
that information and use it only for the authorized services, subject to
applicable legal requirements.
The providers we use may change as our services evolve. Other disclosures
for legal and safety purposes are described below.
9. Payments and Purchases
Zodo uses third-party payment providers to process payments for
subscriptions and other purchases. Available payment methods and providers
may vary and may change over time.
Information needed to process your payment is handled by the applicable
provider under its privacy notice. Zodo receives transaction and
subscription information needed to manage purchases, renewals, refunds,
and account access.
When payment-card details are submitted directly to a payment provider,
Zodo does not receive or store your complete card number.
When you make a purchase through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, the
applicable platform processes your payment under its own terms and privacy
policy. Zodo may receive purchase, subscription, and transaction-status
information needed to provide and manage your access.
10. Legal and Safety Disclosures
Zodo may preserve, use, or disclose information when we reasonably believe
it is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law.
- Respond to a court order, subpoena, or valid government request.
- Investigate suspected fraud, threats, exploitation, or unlawful activity.
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of Zodo, its users, or others.
- Enforce Zodo’s Terms of Service or other policies.
- Establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
Zodo does not routinely provide user information to law enforcement or
other government agencies without a valid legal or safety basis.
Advertising and Sponsorships
Zodo does not sell personal information.
Zodo may introduce advertising or sponsorships to help support free access to the service, expand utility and provide enhanced experiences to all users. Zodo may use aggregate or deidentified audience information for these purposes, sharing this information with vendors, third party advertisers or partners.
11. Matching and Automated Processing
Zodo uses profile information, zodiac information, stated preferences, and
the stated preferences of other users to identify and organize potential
connections.
This processing may automatically determine:
- Which potential connections are available to you.
- The order in which potential connections are presented.
- Whether stated preferences are compatible.
- Whether a connection should be excluded because of a prior account action.
- Which account limits apply under your subscription.
A matching result does not guarantee identity, behavior, intentions,
compatibility, or any particular outcome.
12. Data Retention
Zodo retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate
the service, maintain account and transaction records, protect users, resolve
requests, and satisfy legal or operational requirements.
Active Accounts
Account, profile, preference, connection, and subscription information may
be retained while your account remains active.
Inactive or Fallow Accounts
Zodo may periodically identify accounts that have remained inactive or
fallow for an extended period. Personal information associated with those
accounts may be deleted or deidentified through regular account-maintenance
processes, subject to any information Zodo must retain for legitimate
operational, transaction, safety, or legal purposes.
Chat Records
Chat messages and related communication records may be retained for service
operation, account administration, continuity, dispute resolution, report
review, fraud prevention, safety, or legal purposes.
Chat records may remain for a period after an account is closed or personal
account information is deleted. Where reasonably possible, information that
directly identifies a deleted user may be removed, separated, or deidentified
while necessary communication records are retained.
Account-Deletion Requests
After a verified deletion request, Zodo will delete or deidentify personal
account information that is no longer reasonably required.
Limited information may remain where necessary to:
- Complete or document a transaction.
- Maintain financial or tax records.
- Protect against fraud or unauthorized activity.
- Preserve Block or Report restrictions.
- Investigate or document an account concern.
- Resolve a dispute.
- Comply with a legal obligation.
- Maintain temporary system backups.
Backup copies may remain until overwritten or deleted through Zodo’s
ordinary backup-maintenance process.
13. Account and Personal Information Deletion
You may request deletion of your Zodo account and personal information through:
- Account portal: Log in, choose account, choose
“Delete My Zodo Account”
Deleting the Zodo application from your device does not delete your Zodo account.
After a deletion request is received, Zodo may take reasonable steps to
verify that the request was submitted by the account holder.
Once verified:
- Your account access will end.
- Your profile will no longer be available through the ordinary Zodo service.
- Personal information that is no longer required will be deleted or deidentified.
- Limited records may remain for the reasons described in the Data
Retention section or per Zodo’s Data Retention policies.
A deletion request does not remove information another user has independently
saved outside Zodo.
14. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether Zodo processes personal information about you.
- Access certain personal information.
- Obtain a copy of eligible personal information.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request portability of eligible information.
- Submit a complaint to an appropriate privacy authority.
Zodo will not unlawfully discriminate against you because you exercise
an applicable privacy right.
Submitting a Request
To submit a privacy request, visit
Contact Zodo for our contact
details and mailing address.
Zodo may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity
and protect your account before completing a request.
15. Data Security
Zodo uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures
intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss,
misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
Access to information maintained by Zodo is limited according to operational need.
No online transmission, service, or storage system can be guaranteed to be
completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your password and
should notify Zodo if you believe your account has been accessed without
authorization.
16. Adults Only
Zodo is strictly limited to adults who are at least 18 years old.
People under 18 may not create, access, or use a Zodo account.
Zodo does not knowingly permit minors to use the service. If we learn that
a person under 18 has created an account or submitted personal information,
Zodo may close the account and delete the information, subject to any limited
retention reasonably necessary to document the issue, protect users, or
comply with law.
If you suspect that an account belongs to someone under 18, use Zodo’s
Report function, just as you would for other concerning
accounts or behavior. For guidance, visit
Managing Zodo Connections.
17. Third-Party Services and Links
Zodo may contain links to services operated independently from Zodo.
Those services are responsible for their own privacy practices.
This Privacy Policy does not govern information collected directly by an
application store, payment provider, device platform, or external website.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Zodo may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the service,
our practices, legal requirements, or other circumstances.
When the policy changes, Zodo will update the last-updated date shown on
this page. If a change materially affects how personal information is used,
Zodo will provide any additional notice or obtain any consent required by law.
