Meeting someone new can be exciting, but every online connection should begin with care. These recommendations reflect common safety practices used across major dating platforms and are intended to help you protect your privacy, recognize warning signs, and make informed decisions.

Start With These Safety Basics

Keep conversations in Zodo Chat while you are getting to know someone.
Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, passwords, or verification codes.
Consider a voice or video call before meeting in person.
Meet in a populated, public place and tell someone where you are going.
Arrange your own transportation to and from the meeting.
Trust your instincts. You may end a conversation or leave a meeting at any time.
Use Zodo’s Block and Report tools whenever a user makes you feel unsafe.

1. Protect Your Personal Information

Be thoughtful about what your profile, photographs, and messages reveal. Small details can sometimes expose more information than intended. Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, daily schedule, financial

information, passwords, or government identification.
Review photographs for visible street signs, house numbers, license plates, employee badges, school names, or other location clues.
Use caution before sharing your full name, phone number, personal email address, or social media accounts.
Remember that social media profiles may reveal your employer, relatives, friends, travel plans, and frequently visited locations.

2. Keep Early Conversations on Zodo

Staying within Zodo Chat gives you time to evaluate a connection before sharing additional contact information.

Be cautious when someone pressures you to move immediately to text messaging, email, Telegram, WhatsApp, or another service.
Do not open unfamiliar links or download files sent by someone you have just met.
Never provide a password, login code, account recovery code, or two-factor authentication code.
A legitimate user should respect your decision to continue communicating through Zodo until you feel comfortable.

3. Recognize Common Warning Signs

One warning sign may have an innocent explanation. A pattern of pressure, secrecy, inconsistency, or manipulation should be taken seriously.

The person becomes intensely romantic or emotionally dependent very quickly.
Their stories, age, location, employment, photographs, or personal details repeatedly change.
They refuse reasonable voice or video contact while continuing to make personal or romantic demands.
They claim to be traveling, deployed, working offshore, living abroad, or unable to meet because of repeated emergencies.
They pressure you to keep the relationship secret from friends or family.
They ask for money, account access, codes, purchases, investments, packages, or financial assistance.
They become angry, threatening, insulting, or controlling when you establish a boundary.

Never Send Money to an Online Match

Do not send money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, wire transfers, payment-app transfers, bank information, or financial account access to someone you met through a dating platform. Treat requests involving medical emergencies, travel problems, customs fees, legal trouble, investment opportunities, military deployment, package delivery, or family hardship with extreme caution. Do not receive, transfer, deposit, or forward money or packages for another user. You could unknowingly become involved in fraud or other unlawful activity.

4. Consider a Voice or Video Call

A real-time conversation may help you determine whether the person appears consistent with their profile and communicates respectfully.

Keep the first call brief and avoid displaying private areas of your home.
Do not show mail, documents, work materials, addresses, or other identifying information.
A video call cannot confirm someone’s complete identity, history, or intentions.
Refusal to participate in any real-time conversation may be a reason to proceed more cautiously.

5. Meeting in Person

You are never obligated to meet someone. Wait until you feel comfortable, and take practical precautions when you decide to meet.

Meet in a public, populated, and well-lit location rather than at a private home, hotel room, vehicle, or isolated area.
Tell a trusted person where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return.
Share the profile, meeting location, and available contact details with someone you trust.
Arrange your own transportation. Do not rely on a new match to pick you up or take you home.
Keep your phone charged and accessible.
Protect your food and drinks, and do not leave them unattended.
Limit alcohol or other substances that could affect your awareness or decision-making.
Leave immediately if you feel uncomfortable. You do not owe anyone an explanation for ending a meeting.

6. Consent and Personal Boundaries

Consent must be freely given, informed, specific, and ongoing. It may be withdrawn at any time.

A prior conversation, date, gift, or sexual interaction does not create future consent.
Silence, fear, intoxication, pressure, or uncertainty should not be treated as consent.

Report suspected criminal activity to your local authorities.

8. Travel and Location Safety

Do not share your hotel, room number, complete itinerary, or exact travel schedule.
Meet in a public location where you can obtain help if necessary.
Keep your identification, phone, money, and transportation arrangements under your control.
Learn about local laws, emergency services, and cultural conditions before meeting someone while traveling.

9. Users Must Be Adults

Zodo is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old.

Do not continue a romantic or sexual conversation with anyone you believe may be under 18.
Do not request, receive, save, or distribute sexual content involving a minor.
Report suspected underage users immediately.
Report any user who appears to be impersonating another person or using photographs without permission.

10. Use Zodo’s Connection and Safety Controls

Zodo gives you several ways to manage your experience. Choose the option that best fits the situation.

Quiet

Removes a person from an active chat slot without permanently blocking the connection.

Block

Permanently prevents further interaction with that user. Blocking cannot be undone.

Report

Alerts Zodo to suspected harassment, threats, scams, impersonation, underage use, or other safety concerns.

Before blocking or reporting, preserve relevant usernames, messages, dates, and screenshots when it is safe to do so.

When You Feel Unsafe

If you believe you are in immediate danger or a crime has occurred, contact your local emergency services or law enforcement agency.

Move to a safe, populated location whenever possible.
Contact a trusted friend, relative, or support person.
Preserve messages, photographs, usernames, receipts, and payment records.
Do not confront a threatening person alone.
Use Zodo’s Block and Report tools to prevent further contact.

11. What Zodo Can and Cannot Do

Zodo provides tools that allow users to manage connections, block unwanted contact, and report concerning behavior. Reports may be reviewed under Zodo’s policies and Terms of Service. Zodo does not guarantee the identity, background, honesty, intentions, conduct, or compatibility of any user. A profile, photograph, verification step, conversation, or subscription status should not be treated as a guarantee that a person is safe or truthful.

12. You Remain in Control

You do not owe another user your phone number, address, photographs, or social media information.
You do not owe anyone a meeting, date, relationship, explanation, or second chance.
You may stop communicating, leave a chat, quiet a user, block a user, or report conduct at any time.
A respectful person will accept your boundaries without pressure or retaliation.
